Do you RememBear....Revie Sorey?

Odelay!

Revie Sorey was an offensive guard for the Chicago Bears from 1975 through 1983. Revie was drafted from the Illini in round 5 along with another Bear offensive player in the first round, Walter Payton.

1st Quarter Report Card

We're 25% into the season and conveniently at a bye week. Let's hand out some random, meaningless letter grades to the team.

Quarterback: B-

It's damn nice to have a quarterback that you feel can win a game and Cutler has been pretty damn good since Week 1. And you know if the offensive line gave him more time and he had better receivers, he's probably a top 5 and definitely a top 10 QB...BUT

He's careless with the ball, ranks 25th by Football Outsider rankings and when we're only basing our grades on 4 games, you can't conveniently just throw out one of them.

That all being said, thanks Denver.

Bears Aren't Afraid of This Pussy Cat

The Bears take care of business at home and go 3-1 into their bye week.

1st Quarter

Bad start for Fox if they want me to listen to the game as Thom Brenneman shows up my screen. They pair him with the generally informative Brian Billick, so I stay away from the mute button for now.

Lions get the ball to start the game and apparently go deep to Calvin Johnson, I'm in the bathroom with my daughter who is throwing up. So much for a quiet Sunday...Bears hold on the next set of downs but an offsides on a field goal attempt gives the Lions a first down. Bears hold again on the next set of downs, including a violent take down by Alex Brown that the refs call a facemask, although no such penalty occurred. Eventually Lions punch it in and it's 7-0 Lions.

The Dreaded Trap Game

There's no good reason the Bears shoud lose that game, other than underestimating the Lions and looking forward to their bye week, in what has been coined by the media as the trap game.

Bears will try to dance around this one and hopefully start the year 3-1.

Do the Detroit Lions have da Nerve to Upset the Chicago Bears?

"Put em up! Put em up!"

The Bears welcome the now puffy chested Detroit Lions, who have scored their first victory since Mitt Romney was still in the run for presidency of the United States.

Ah December 2007, what a wacky time.

Bears Overcome Seahawks Jerseys for Victory

I admit I thought this would be an easy win for the Bears...I mean not a blowout win, but it should have been taken care of by the 4th quarter. Instead we were treated to a nailbiter that went down to the final drive.

1st Quarter

Olindo Mare kicks it halfway through the end zone and Johnny Knox decides to take it out and goes 53 yards into Seattle territory. As expected, the Bears break out the run game and the Seahawks were of course expecting it. 3 and out and Robbie Gould with a 53-yard attempt that he had no shot of making...wide left.

Seahawks go on offense and debut their Night Safety jerseys.

Bears Better Beat Seahawks or Else

There aren't many must-win games around Week 3, but considering the Seahawks injury report looks like the Cubs disabled list for most of the season, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say the Bears need to win this game...otherwise the dog gets it.

Bears Winless in Seattle...until tomorrow

December 5, 1976

Bob Avellini will give you ride home from the bar

The only time the Chicago Bears have won in Seattle. Coached under Jack Pardee, the Bears won 34-7 in the old Kingdome. I was in kindergarten.

Seahawks Could Be Cure for Bears Running Game

We're two games in and Matt Forte is averaging 2.2 yards per carry and has just 5 catches on the season. Everyone who took him with a top 5 pick in their fantasy drafts is ready to shread their pre-draft rankings and I almost fell into that trap. I had the 5th pick in my fantasy draft this year and was hoping he'd fall that far but he got scooped up at #4. I took Tomlinson anyway, so I'm just as screwed.

Hasselbeck May Miss Sunday's Game

The Bears may catch a break on the opposing team injury front yet again as Matt Hasselbeck has a fractured rib. Seahawks seem to be playing it close to the vest and suggesting Hasselback could play much like Andy Reid did with Donovan McNabb this week. But the way the Bears pass rush has been playing that doesn't seem wise if they want Hasselback playing the rest of 2009. If he can't go, it'll be Seneca Wallace in the battle of the 1-1's.
