What's Wrong With Jay Cutler? Open field, as we say in football speak
So as I checked in I was gonna pass on a great link, but user Jumbo beat me to it in a comment in my last post. I haven't had a chance to argue with Jumbo (or anyone else here) but I gotta say it will be hard to argue with a dude who linked up to something I was intending this original post to be about.
Anyway, here is the link:

I think this article does a much better job than I did describing what I've been describing about describing about how I am describing my frustrations about the bears, without really describing my real frustrations about them.
Let's hope that there is some kid named Rocky Wirtz around somewhere in the mccaskey (I will not honor this family with its Irish name until they honor us) family, and let's hope Virginia is not like that Bitch on Heroes if and when if finally shows up. ...... AHHH then, the world says fuck you virginia m(oh dear TMZ has found us).
Bears Lose To Vikings. The Pits remain the Pits
It's good to live in Texas, sometimes. Because here, they know good football, and even if the Bears game had been the primary Fox game, here in Texas, they would have found a way to black them out.
I didn't see the game. I have no idea why the Lord above saved me from it, but He did. That's Texas speak, btw, and it feels just right, just right now.
What I could tell from the line score was that my earlier defense on this blog of Cutler may have possibly been premature, but that, for sure, my disgust with the Pits was right on target.
For those unfamiliar with the term "pit", it's the term football coaches use for the front line. Both sides. It's a mash pit, and, generally, whatever team wins in the mash pit, on any level of play, high school, college, or NFL, wins the game.
There was an article I saw yesterday in the Trib about how Cutler was, statistically, in better shape than almost all the other QBs in the league in terms of sacks.
I guess the article writer hasn't noticed the pressures. Do those get recorded? Oh, yes, they do. And last I saw, Cutler was number two in the league in pressures. In other words, if he doesn't pass as soon as his hands touch the ball he's in deep shit.
Cutler is not Grossman. Cutler is a QB sitting behind a paper bag offensive line. If he takes them out to dinner, I recommend a really bad restaurant that makes them all sick for the rest of their lives.
Cutler to be Paid Handsomely for Red Zone Turnovers
The Bears locked up Jay Cutler last night through 2013, adding two years to his rookie contract that would have expired in 2011. Cutler is set to make $50M over the next 5 years for a modest $10M per year salary, the main benefit for him in the new deal is the guarantee of $20M, come rain, sun or career ending injury thanks to the Bears offensive line.
Considering the steep price the Bears paid to acquire Cutler, locking him until he's 30 seems pretty wise. For all his turnover troubles on Sunday Night games, he's basically a one man show on offense right now for the Bears. The run game is completely non-existant right now - hell, Cutler was the leading rusher on Sunday - and he's constantly having to avoid the rush while throwing to what I consider a below average receiving corps.
In other news, Pisa Spellcheck is contemplating season-ending knee surgery after reinjuring his knee on Sunday. Expect Jamar Williams to take his spot or possibly Hunter Hillenmeyer when he returns from his injury.
