Soldier Field- 2010

"Great seats!Huh buddy?"
Mike Martz named new offensive coordinator for Bears.
Ugh.
So lets see that makes the third former head coach now on Lovies roster.(Tice, Marinelli)
Lovie is surrounding himself with alot of candidates for his job for 2011, but I'm here to tell you the Martz bomb is going to blow them all out of the water that will reach all the way to the top of the Bears chain(Angelo) and down to the franchise quarterback.
Martz is nuts.
He has a playbook that is roughly the size of the Beijing phone book. Kurt Warner said that Martz has 145 plays for any given game with several variations of each play. A regular NFL offense goes into a game with 75. Tops. (Did I hear a chuckle)
The offense is predicated on timing. (Stop laughing)
The receivers must have precise routes. (Seriously stop laughing).
And the QB must stand in the pocket longer. (I'm warning you)
So the receivers can run said intricate routes (KNOCK IT OFF)
Dear God.
This could be the biggest f up in Chicago sports history.
Do you know how big that is????
The receivers on this team could barely run the street football routes that Ron Turner drew up on his EtchaSketch(so to keep the morons attention) and now you are bringing the football equivalent of quantum physics to this lot?!!?!?
Longer in the pocket?!?!?
With what offensive line??!?!
~deep breath~
I suggest Jay Cutler get the concussed football helmet that make a player looks like the great Kazoo and wrap himself in kevlar because he's in for a world of pain.
Bad football my friends, but a lot of finger pointing and power struggles to make 2010 a terrible, but laughable season.
on the playbook...
but if you can turn the 49ers with Shaun Hill and Isaac Bruce in 2008 to the 13th ranked passing offense, I think Cutler and the Bears will improve.
Matt Forte's fantasty stock though just tanked.
Fire da bums already!
They have the QB.
But nothing else.
This will be a colossal failure with current roster.
Olsen's stock is in the tank too as TE are merely blockers in Martz's scheme.
don't think the Lions or 49ers had much going for them and they still got good passing numbers. Roy Williams, Mike Furrey and Shaun McDonald was their trio. 49ers had Isaac Bruce and I couldn't even tell you the other 2 guys. Kitna got killed, threw a ton of picks, but they still scored and could move the ball.
Same will happen here and Cutler is better.
Fire da bums already!

Fire da bums already!
"Martz wanted to keep attacking on offense -- which he was hired to do "
So not only will he get Cutler killed he has a Terminator type resolve, "which he was hired to do", that will not allow him to ammend his style or philosphy no matter the situation.
Sounds like a great hire.
the entire article is pretty interesting fwiw, paints Martz as more quirky more than mean. He is hard on his players and expects them to learn the system (good luck Hester).
trade Hester for Marshall or Boldin?
I'd do it and not think twice about it.
Fire da bums already!
YES!!!!
Bears don't know how to use him effectively.(kick returner, maybe H-back on some plays)
And add Brian Urlacher to that list also.
They are already talking about how much Urlacher was missed in 2009.
Here's how 2010 plays out-Urlacher comes back sucks, Lovie will say "Well we were counting on Brian..." and 2010 is a disaster as expected by everyone except the Bears themselves.(see Kerry Wood/Mark Prior Cubs circa 2005-2006)

yes please...or just trade him.
Fire da bums already!
They need to redo his contract, because he has all receiving incentives in his contract.
Focus is on flexibility and athleticism rather than pure strength. It's incredible to me that he's as big as he is without his training being devoted to pure weight lifting.

Also, it looks like he smiles all the time, not just after signing an $80MM contract
